My name is Damian Norman, and I am a professional dance artist based in Vancouver. My life is focused around creation and expression; building a community in which people are encouraged to engage and share in their own creativity. I am looking to expand my artistic pallet and explore the world of visual art, modeling, photography, and wherever else these mediums may take me. I believe I have a unique perspective, physical body, and movement vocabulary, and in how I choose to approach expressing myself. I love collaboration and am open to conversation: I am seeking to grow and learn from others and looking to offer the same in return.

Bio: As a professional dance artist, a certified yoga instructor, and a holistic movement coach, Damian Kai Norman strives to understand the body through breath, soft pliable musculature, dynamic use of weight, and functional range of motion. Norman has over 10 years of experience performing and teaching dance across Canada and in Europe. He is a practitioner and teacher of yoga, also honing the craft for over 10 years, and is a certified movement flow instructor. Norman is always searching for new modes of expanding what is possible through physical practice. Norman is an instructor at MOOV, a training stretch therapist at The Stretch Space, facilitates workshops with Brian Carew, trains weekly at EDAM, was invited to teach at the 5th Annual Contact Improvisation Festival in Vancouver, and is in creative process with Jill Henis, Rachel Maddock, Cassandra Maze, as well creating his own projects such as “Under Our Skin”. He continues to collaborate in artistic modeling /photography having worked with artists across Canada and abroad including Vancouver’s local Andi McLeish. Norman is currently expanding his understanding of meditation, qi gong, and breathwork. He is also a growing voice in conscious men’s work through the Samurai Brotherhood and has enrolled in a professional counseling program to further his development into the world of the healing arts. With a calm grounded presence and an uplifting encouraging spirit, Norman invites you to connect with your body and build a relationship of trust, curiosity, and creativity, deepening your capacity through movement, yoga, and dance.
