About Me

Hello stranger!

I like to think of my style as generally darker, more dramatic, inspired by Baroque themes. I think it speaks to my want for a complex reality - everything existing on a spectrum, in my opinion. A small, simple example - growing up eating cereal and milk being told about this 'food pyramid', when you're gluten and lactose intolerant. One begins to realize over time how harmful one specific view of life can be. How harmful to the solitary internal experience taking the face value of a narrative, not examining the premise of stuffing myself with grain like a cow for milking. The frame of reference is relative, the answer to a question changing depending on where one is standing in history, culture and experience. I have but one lens, but I want to always be thinking about all perspectives in my search for contentment in life.

Photographically, I come from a landscape and street photography background. Personally, I spent many years in manufacturing using books to learn how to use my mind to build a better reality for myself, internally and externally. Art and philosophy were huge tools to help me learn more about who I am and what I began to ask from my surroundings. They have forever changed the way I see.

I believe music is medicine, and reading is as necessary as breathing. Always learning and growing - mind, body and spirit.

Let's talk about ideas! Mythology, philosophy, history, stories of life experiences that keep you up at night randomly with a flush of cold anxiety wondering why you're still embarrassed about something that happened in first grade, whatever!

P.S. Take care of you and yours, and stay safe during all of this. A friend who studies the patterns of large populations told me in conversation that after dark ages comes a time of renaissance. This is a time for artists to plot and plan so that we might light the way for our society to help reach the sun. There is light at the end on this darkness - I can see it.
