I originally had some interest in photography when I was in high school and this profile was originally created around that time. The idea of further developing any skills in photography was side-tracked and forgotten about when I joined the United States Air Force, where I served for eight years.

As of 2014, I moved to Berkeley, California and am attending the San Francisco Art Institute, studying for a BFA in Filmmaking. While at SFAI, I decided to delve back into photography. I purchased a Canon 70D and began to see what I could do.

I quickly started to figure out the areas of photography that interested me and those that I didn't care about shooting. I tried shooting landscapes and nature photography, but it never grabbed my attention. I went on to dabble with people in environments, but that too was fleeting.

Over the past few months, I realize that I am in a perfect position to experiment deeply with photography. My equipment is limited (a camera and a few lenses), but through my school I have access to all the photography equipment I could ever imagine.

So I have decided to seize this opportunity and start delving deep into abstract and artistic photography. This has so far been an experimental process where I am trying new things and not sure how it will all work out, but it is a learning experience.
