About Me

As a child, scanning through slides and photographs his father had taken, one struck him in particular. It was of their family dog. It was not an ordinary photograph, as it seemed to capture the uniqueness and personality of their pet. From that, he discovered the difference between an ordinary snap shot and a photograph and was hooked from that point on.

His first camera was a Fujica. Later, his father bought him a used SLR, a Minolta 102, along with a couple of basic lenses. During his school years he spent multiple hours in the darkroom. His parents gave him permission to turn one of their bathrooms and the basement into darkrooms as well, Hence he cut his teeth on black and white film developing and processing.

His first photographic essay came in 1975 for a high school project. He photographed a visual representation of the Chippewa Street area of Buffalo, NY.

These photographs all shot in black and white with Kodak Tri x Pan and Plus x Pan film, now serve a historical value as this area of Buffalo no longer exists due to the renaissance of the city.

He resides in Winston Salem, North Carolina where, he enjoys photographing sports, architecture, landscape and fine art style photography
