Growing up, I was the super skinny, dark skinned girl with the big gap. I was the tomboy everyone called pretty, but I never saw it.
As I watched my older sister develop, she became interested in hair, makeup, and fashion. These things were very foreign to me, but I often found myself being used as a testing doll. I always felt so beautiful when she finished, like a Barbie doll, perfect.
My goal is to become a successful model and role model. I would love to be relatable to younger girls. Some of us don’t have big sisters to make us feel pretty.
I appreciate hair and makeup artists, photographers and stylists because they bring out the inner beauty in you, even when you can’t see it. Sometimes we find ourselves so busy trying to be alike that we forget that our differences are what make us individually unique. I admire the modeling industry because flaws are what make you so different and beautiful.
