I have a long background in outdoor photography of high speed objects, mostly aviation photography and drag racing. Recently I got interested in photography of models, which is an entirely different world.

Then I discovered polaroids. Well, rediscovered them. I used to use my grandfather's old Land Camera all the time and then gave up when black and white film became impossible to find.

Polaroids offer an entirely new set of challenges. You cannot control the exposure, the f stop, the focus, the focal depth... the flash is from a fixed point and is always harshly pointed right at your subject. But when you get that one good shot, there's something magical about a polaroid. There's such a heavy nostalgia factor, plus it's a one time thing... you can't edit it, can't crop it, can't burn it, can't dodge it, no "photoshopping" at all. It is what it is, a moment in time.

The imperfections of it are the perfections of it.

So I am working on a portfolio of expressly polaroid shots, with the intention of turning it into a website gallery. I am looking for models that are interested in participating in this very fascinating and very retro project.
