About Me

Time is money, so I’ll to cut to the chase. I’m here to create and collaborate. I’m also very grateful I get to do both for a living.

As a kid, I spent most of my time outdoors. The serenity of open space and the sound of nature always put me at ease. My grandmother gave me her old Kodak Brownie Twin Lens and suggested I try to capture a moment of the peacefulness I was always describing to her. That was the first time I realized taking photographs truly puts me where I’m most content. More importantly, it affords me the ability to remember the details of my life and revisit them anytime I like.

In another life, I was a member of the “real world”. As a paramedic and university EMS instructor, I oversaw hundreds of students and routinely became the best part of thousands of patients’ worst day. These roles taught me how to remain calm, manage tasks, meet budgets, delegate responsibility and approach every assignment and medical emergency with 100% commitment and energy. I take every project as serious as you do.

After leaving the real world for a freelance lifestyle, I learned photography is my method of conversation. From my high school hay-hauling’ days in the open fields of southwest Missouri to being a resource for future medical professionals, I have already lived many different lives. These experiences give me the ability to find commonality with most any subject or campaign.

If a project catches my eye, I am always up for the challenge. I’m a long time Missouri native and will travel anywhere for the right collaboration. I will always strive to produce great storytelling images that exceed expectations—while having as much fun as possible, of course.

I invite you to look at my portfolio, then get to know me as a person. If I can’t grasp your vision, I promise to fire myself on the spot.

At the end of the day, the camera just makes sense to me, and that must count for something, right?
