I love tracing the human form with my lens and teasing out our shared humanity through imagery. I am currently working on a series titled Black and White Roses. It's an exploration of temporality through the construction, deconstruction, and ultimate destruction of cliches. I am also having fun playing with a light projector. Here's the backstory if you feel like more text.

My pictures are a reflection of what I see rather than what is. I learned this from my teachers in the lab early on as we developed our treasured rolls of Ilford FP4 that I had carefully exposed on an early Nikon FM-2. The film was expensive, and every picture was intentional and thought through carefully. Between the FM-2, the lab, and my more recent digital transformation came many years of point-and-shoots and cell phone cameras. Quietly and surreptitiously, life hijacked my love of stopping time.

And then, in 2015, I met a diminutive marvel of modern engineering that seduced me back into the fold. Thank you, Olympus (RIP), for making the EM-5 Mark II. Thank you, my friends, for suffering my lens in your face and choosing my pictures for your many professional and personal profiles online. Thank you also for inviting me into your lives and validating and encouraging my passion for the medium. My camera is now a constant companion. While I aspire to stay true to the intentionality of my early days, I often find myself staying up late to keep up with the prolificity that this medium encourages!
