Photography is the best way of expressing my thoughts, feelings and aspirations; an easily understood mechanism for reaching other people, without the barrier of language, culture or prejudice. I believe that a photograph should be the result of an artistic process that is a reflection of life as it occurs naturally, or as its subjects see themselves living it. Thus, I always strive to capture the essence of the moment: the mood, the emotions, the energy or any particular message that the situation has to express. And when I succeed, the satisfaction of bringing all that to those who view my images is what makes it all worth it.

For many years, I was covering the full spectrum of photographic genres, with my main focus on photojournalism. I have visited and lived in multiple countries, where I had the opportunity to photograph unique locations, events and people. I was the president of the photographic club of Sofia University while attending it in the 1980s and was actively taking part in various cultural activities, leading to participation in regional and international competitions and exhibits. Eventually, family obligations and professional commitments imposed a long hiatus on my passion but I am slowly making time and returning to it. I have recently become a member of the Saint Vrain Photographic Society, where I have been recognized with multiple awards.

The reason I am here is because I would like to expand my artistic range with the portrait and glamour genre. I believe that working with a model adds substantially to, say, a candid, photojournalistic or street-photography scenario. It puts in the mix the creative input of another person, and – yes, I do believe that a model can be and should strive to be an artist. I am looking for someone who isn’t necessarily an established model but knows their strengths and is willing to work with me to express their creative persona in the photographic medium.
