I am a newly aspiring full figured model looking to break into the industry. I currently work for the federal government, but my love for Fashion, Art, and Glamour, has always eaten away at me. I have always wanted a platform to showcase my creativity and vision, along with creating a powerful message for body-positive measures. The driving force behind my body-positive efforts stems from being a sufferer of PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), which completely transformed my life. PCOS is a incurable syndrome that attacks the very essence of femininity. Women who suffer from it produce irregular levels of testosterone which causes excessive weight gain, male-patterned hair loss on the scalp, facial hair growth, insulin resistance, and the most devastating, complications conceiving. Knowing that my body would never be "thin" with ease and also coming to terms that I may need assistance getting pregnant and more importantly staying pregnant, really hurt me. In one year, I gained 70 lbs, all of which I could not control due to the symptoms of PCOS. It led to many issues involving self-acceptance, self-love, and feeling worthy enough to be loved by others. I felt like I had no control over my body, and that ate away at my mind terribly. However, over the past 5 years, I have transformed into a self-loving machine. Experiencing loss and learning that I am the key that unlocks my happiness, has lead to my driving force to spread love and encourage self-acceptance. I am a firm believer that you cannot change anything, until you learn to accept who you are, where you are. Love the Struggle and the Success. Once you are in love with everything you are and are not, then and only then can you unlock your journey.
