I have been an amateur photographer for more than 20 years. I still use my film SLR gear occasionally and may have it with me while taking portraits along with my digital gear.

I have varied interests in photography, my traditional interest being in landscapes. My camera has accompanied me on many adventures, sometimes self-sufficient for several days complete with tripod etc which can be a struggle. This leads me to the fact that I have a preference for natural lighting and enjoy being outdoors. I also very much like indoor environments where there is plenty of natural light. Besides, I have no experience with studios and don't even own a good flash.

I enjoy shooting portraits mostly for my own enjoyment. I started like many others photographing people I knew or maybe just happened to meet on the street. I started hiring models sporadically in about 2008. Also in 2008 I photographed someone I knew for Oxygen Magazine (Australian edition) and the article about her and three of my pictures appeared in the Oct/Nov issue. I have attended a couple of Boudoir Salon sessions with Marie Brokensha.

I do not have a particular interest in, or knowledge of, fashion though I have an appreciation for someone who knows how to present themselves. I am generally drawn to female models who look elegant or pretty or sexy or alternative which perhaps does not narrow things down in any meaningful way for you, the reader of this blurb.

I am well-educated and know how to treat a lady accordingly. I have otherwise been described as having a good sense of humour and maybe a little cheeky.
