Tia Nicholson owner of Retro Lux Photograghy mission is to transform contemporary girls into retro vintage bombshells. Retro Lux is dedicated to the recreation of the beloved pin-up from the 40's and 50's with a modern twist. Photographer Tia Nicholson has had a passion for pin-ups from a young age, as a young girl she was captivated by the classic looks of her grandmothers in photos from the 40's and 50's. She started
recreating the looks while in high school finding a love for hair and makeup. In 2007 Tia joined the Army looking for adventure leaving her small town in Kansas. While in the Army Tia’s obsession for cheesecake photography started to grow. After Tia left the Army she started pin-up modeling and entered local pin-up contests as a hobby. In 2013 Tia decided to share her passion with others and decided to enroll in cosmetology school. She graduated in 2014 and moved to Ogden, Utah where she started working with local photographers as a hair and makeup artist. While working as a hair and makeup artist Tia fell in love with photography. Tia currently attends the Art Institute of Seattle working on a Bachelors Degree in Photography. Tia is fueled by making women feel great about the true beauty they possess. Since being in school Tia has also found new love for many types of photography including fashion and street photography. Tia likes to spend her free time taking pictures of her gorgeous son Jackson.
