I have chosen photography as my second career. I am an engineer who retired from the semiconductor industry a few year ago and have now taken my photography to a professional level. My commercial endeavors currently include nature prints and a 28 page tourist brochure “Photographic Tour of Historic Southport” for which I was the photographer, author and publisher. I have also done photo shoots for commercial web sites. I am expanding my professional photography into portraits and other paid shoots. My corporate web site is currently under development and I am creating a portfolio of images prior to public release of this site.

In addition to capturing the beauty of each person, my photographic interests are pushing the limits in creative lighting situations and telling stories through photographs. I will use models primarily for competitions and exhibitions photographs. Most of my shoots will be at odd hours which are determined by lighting – dawn to just after sunrise, just prior to sunset through dusk, moon rise and at night. These often have a limited window (one hour or less) for the lighting so promptness is a primary attribute the model must possess. I have portable studio lighting and backdrops for use in portraits and other paid assignments but feel most creative when capturing images in outdoor lighting situations using supplemental flash.

Because I am also building my portfolio of images, I am willing to work with any local model on a TF* basis. Non-retouched digital images would be supplied at no charge. For images I choose to use, retouched digital images would be provided. A modest charge would be required for retouching images I did not plan to use and for all prints. Once my portfolio is complete, I will still work on a TF* basis with models that desire to build their portfolio. Everyone need help at the beginning of a career and I am willing to assist with any reasonable TF* request.

I believe all people are beautiful in their own unique and personal way so the challenge for the photographer is to capture them using a flattering pose and lighting. With this approach I have no preconceived height, weight, hair color, eye color or skin color requirements. Tattoos are often a challenge and may require the model to possess excellent posing skills but are generally not a basis for exclusion. This does not imply that any model can be used in any scene but rather there is a scene, pose and lighting that best suits each model. Finding that combination is a challenge I enjoy.

General requirements and information
A model release is required for all shoots
An ID with photograph is required (a photo copy will be made)
Models must be of legal age or, if a minor, accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with ID
A non-intrusive escort is acceptable
TF* digital images will be 1536 pixels in the longer dimension
