About Me

(January 23, 2014) MOORESVILLE, NC – As the daughter of doorslammer legend and engine builder extraordinaire Pat Musi, Lizzy
Musi grew up at the drag strip. After working her way up through the ranks, 2013 saw the second-generation driver enjoy her finest
season yet as a frontrunner in ADRL Top Sportsman competition.
2014 promises much bigger things for Lizzy Musi. With backing from longtime Musi Racing
supporters Edelbrock, Lucas Oil, and Frank Brandao, she will make her Pro Modified
racing debut behind the wheel of the 2009 Dodge Stratus formerly campaigned by her
father. The car has been updated with the latest components and technology, not to mention
an all-new Musi Racing Engines 903 EFI powerplant.
“I’m ready to make the transition to Pro Mod,” Lizzy Musi said confidently. “The last couple
years in Top Sportsman have been great and I’ve learned a lot, but it’s time to take the
next step in my racing career. I’ve got the best teacher I could ask for in my dad, and the
support of a great team and sponsors.”
Musi will ease into the much quicker car, focusing primarily on eighth-mile competition
after getting comfortable in preseason testing.
“It’s a big jump from low four-second elapsed times to the 3.80-second range at close to
200 MPH,” said Musi. “We’re going to do it right and take it one step at a time.”
Adding to the excitement leading up to her debut season, Lizzy Musi will headline Drag
Illustrated Magazine’s annual Hottest Women in Drag Racing special issue. Focusing on
the women in drag racing that are creating the most impact with their success on and
off the track, the popular issue of the world-renowned magazine will feature Musi on the
cover and contain an in-depth feature story about her. Look for it online and in mailboxes
in February.
“Being featured on the cover of Drag Illustrated is such an honor. It’s a great publication
that goes beyond what you’d expect from a drag racing magazine, and really gives an indepth
look at the people of the sport,” Musi said. “Now I’ve just got to back up all the excitement with my performance on the track
in 2014.”
If past success is an indicator of future performance, Lizzy Musi will have no trouble doing just that.

"Lizzy rocks! Any of you would be extremely lucky to work with this fine young lady. On top of being obviously beautiful, she is an extremely accomplished professional drag racer. The best part though...she is humble and very easy to work with." Read less
