David Coleman was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. An artist who mainly captures travel and nature photography, David also offers a series of popular classes in photography as well as one-to-one private training in the San Mateo area.

His most recent images are of Cuba. They demonstrate the dualism that the people of this island have necessarily absorbed as an integral part of their lives. Although a nation of poor people, in Havana there is not a single destitute person and every child has mandatory school. Cubans have government-sponsored meals so no one goes hungry. Everyone is content, yet not free to travel. However cautious Cubans may be with foreigners, visitors are nonetheless readily welcomed into homes.

If these images have a mission, it is this: to capture rarely viewed foreign cultures, scenes, and environments in order to present them honestly and in an interesting way. Whatever the locale, on the best of days these images will prompt many unexpected feelings and thoughts for the viewer.
