About Me

My name is Stephen DePratti and have been an amateur photographer for over ten years, where I started at San Diego City College. I have taken classes in beginning, intermediate, and advanced photography in B & W, digital photography, lighting photography, and portfolio photography. I received A's and B's in all these classes. In addition, I have taken Photoshop and business photography. I received an Associate Degree in Photography from San Diego City College. My studies have also included three Associate Degrees from San Diego City College. One in two dimensional photography and one in three dimensional arts. My last A.A. was in Spanish and French languages. I have elaborated on my photographic skills by taking classes in oil painting, pottery, ceramics, sketching, design, life-drawing, and freehand drawing. All these subjects have contributed to my photography style. I attended San Diego State University from 2001-2004 and received my B.A. in Philosophy and enrolled in the Master's program in Philosophy in 2009, where I am still completing. I am a member of the Spanish Village Art Center, in Balboa Park, San Diego. This is a non-profit artist community where members are allowed to sell their wares. I sell my photographs there. I enjoy portrait photography more than anything, and taking landscape photographs. I would like to expand on my photography by opening up a business and pursuing modeling photography. I would like to incorporate adult and child modeling. My goals are to finish my master's program at SDSU and become more active finding models to work with, who might mutually make my career and their career more successful. I think I can transform any models photographs into something positive and appealing to clients. My goal would be to work with models on their portfolios by offering printing resources and reviewing photographs to their liking. The cost of doing this will vary from model to model, depending on the success of the relationship between myself, the quality of the photographs, and the model. I would imagine that prints would cost individually and would be 8.5" * 11." Matting would also be available, at an additional cost. I am sure that the money aspect would be competitive and very reasonable. This would be agreed upon by myself and the model.
