I picked up my camera shortly after college and didn't go anywhere without it. I shot landscape, still, and candid street journalistic shots but after a couple years expanded to Executive headshots, fashion, sports and some wedding photography.
I try and work with a subject to find the benefits - highlight what looks good and hide what looks bad using lighting, shading, angle, props, etc. The camera catches everything but the goal is to minimize using the computer to correct the imperfections.
