About Me

The language we all speak is an emotional one. Every child is born ready to feel. With age, we refine our ability to communicate those emotions through a variety of means. As we share this trait, we also have a long standing tradition of sharing our experiences through storytelling.

By no mistake, a great story is often served with food, perhaps because storytelling is much like cooking to begin with. It is hunger that generates creativity. The craving creates the foundation for the theme. Cooking is the work of a tool. And seasoning is the mood. As for the flavor? Well, that comes from emotion. The plating serves a single purpose, which is to present the experience, to transport you alongside the characters into the world they are living in; to feel what they feel.

As an aging child, the day came where my frantic search for picture stories was a lost cause. My favorite genre of books had all been maniacally replaced with long texts. The letters had become smaller. The paragraphs were larger. The books were thicker. The time investment was immeasurably increased. Panicked, I whispered to myself, “Where are the picture books for adults...?”

I dedicate these stories without words to that confused young man, and his peers, who enjoy reading books written in the language of emotion.
