About Me
################ Update ################
I don't make a living from photography - there is way too much other stuff going on in my life for that. "Taking photographs" for other people with a different artistic view just doesn't float my boat. Instead, I make photographs for simple enjoyment, for relaxation, and maybe to help people appreciate themselves just a wee bit more. Creating beautiful images is my passion. I dream about it all the time, and I want you to be part of it. During my shoot sessions, and in viewing my images afterwards, I no longer see... "shoulder"... "hand"... "leg": I see the image as a single whole work - kind of like enjoying a garden as a whole, rather than enjoying the individual plants and beds that go to make it up. It's all about balancing the tones and colours, the shapes and the lines - about presenting something that's pleasing to the eye. I particularly enjoy working with all the incredibly talented models there are around just now, sharing a passion with them, trusting them wholly and gaining their trust in me, as a photographer and as a person. ~############### Figure ################### My photography is about the balancing of tones, shapes and lines to create a piece that rests gently on the senses. Serene loops, triangles, shadows and highlights... and where better to find them than in the human figure. Though I regularly work with professional artists models to produce these image, I sometimes get the chance to work with private individuals. Understandably, many people are hesitant to undress in front of the camera, but the general feeling after about two minutes is that it is an incredibly liberating and confidence building experience. There's no such thing as the "ideal" age, "fairer" sex, "optimal" height or "perfect" shape when it comes to the more abstract forms and bodyscapes. In this genre, features with which the model has issues can be minimised or hidden completely. Similarly, with the picture focussing on the beauty of the form itself, anonymity can be a welcome side-effect! (perfect if you've never tried a figure shoot before and might be a little apprehensive) I definitely want to start pushing the envelope further into the fine-art figure genre combining male and female nudes in the studio. I just wish there were more guys out there willing to consider this artform. So, guy or girl, get together with your partner (or of course another model you're comfortable working with at this level) and drop me a line. I'm just as interested to hear from curious first-timers as I am from seasoned professional models. ~############### Dance ################### When the world gets just a little bit TOO serene for my liking I look to dance to inject some excitement. As such, I'm starting to push forward with the dance themes with the emphasis on movement and grace. If you're a male or female flexible dancer (16+) then I want to hear from you. You need to be able to do leaps or at least high kicks, splits etc. As in the figure work above, my dance photography is all about shape, form, definition, lines etc. ~ Guy~ Verified Credits (0)Worked with Guy Carnegie?
