Alan's creative career started when he worked for his father's advertising design business as a teenager. In 1992 he founded his own design firm, Alan Barnett Design, and he continues to work with corporate and nonprofit clients to satisfy their visual communications needs. In 2006, Alan’s photography hobby morphed into professional work as he gained the skills to offer photography to his clients instead of hiring outside talent. Whether in the studio or on location, Alan specializes in corporate and nonprofit events, personal and business portraiture, residential and commercial interiors, and documenting community life for clients including NYU School of Medicine, Plymouth Church, Citymeals-on-Wheels, and Housing Works.

Alan is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP). He lives and works in New York City and serves the New York metropolitan area and beyond.
