About Me

Lésha (pronounced Lay-sha) was born in the beautiful island of Trinidad. She is an eclectic singer from the northern city of Port of Spain. Lésha grew up as a middle child of a large family and was raised in the Baptist church where she began singing at only 4 years old. According to her mom, "Lésha has been singing from birth". Performing in the church choir's production entitled 'Revival' was the beginning of her constant involvement in music and acting, which has literally carried her around the world.
As a pre-teen she started competing. Lésha's impressive resume includes many top finishes in Calypso competitions and the annual Sugar and Energy Festival. She competed and won several times accompanied by local and regionally renowned bands.

After winning her last talent competition she was invited to be a part of a cultural expedition at the age of 15. This was her first experience touring the world. Accompanied by percussionists, she performed on the East coast of the U.S.A. as well as Montreal, Canada. At 16, Lésha won 1st place at the Miss Teen Trinidad & Tobago Talented Pageant, held in the capital city's historic Mas Camp Pub, a venue which has seen the emergence of many of Trinidad's top entertainers.

In 1998 Lésha became first runner-up in the Sugar & Energy Festival queen pageant, after which she was contracted by top local bands, performing Pop and Soca music. Lésha then went on to the band New Wave and was contracted by Star Cruises a cruise company based Hong Kong, China, for one year performing popular Latin, Pop, Soca and Reggae and R&B hits, while visiting many Indo-Chinese tourist hotspots.
In 2000, Lésha and New Wave was then contracted to Princess Cruise Lines. They performed to audiences on the high seas and on land from Miami to the British and French Virgin Islands, Mexico, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Central and South America just to name a few, which continued when they went on to Carnival Cruise Lines in 2002. In 2005, Lésha was a featured solo artist in shows on board World Cruise Lines when it visited Trinidad.

In 2008, as lead singer of a new band, Island Fever, Lésha arrived on the West Coast of the United States still contracted with Carnival Cruises, operating out of Los Angeles. She returned to Trinidad in 2010 where she has been working independently with producers like Martin "Mice" Raymond and Gregg Assing of Champion Sounds Studios out of St Anns Trinidad, John Afoon and Robyn Immamsha out of Studio 21, Carl "Beaver" Henderson both based in St James, Trinidad, Daniel Sampson just to name a few, under the guidance of Christian M Carbaza legendary A&R executive and music impresario, while still performing with local bands.

Lésha true "Trini girl" roots and rare understanding of Trinidad and Tobago, is of an exotic mixed heritage that represents the world, combined with a powerful voice with an impressive range. Having traveled the world, and absorbed so many musical influences, her sound is precisely the ingredient needed to serve the musical palates.

Now based in Montreal, Quebec, Lésha is currently working on her album and her new production show which will be a spectacle to see. Her energetic performances and soul will move you. The rhythms of the caribbean with the mixture of different genres of music in it's unique multi lingual blend will make you want to hear more and see more.
