About Me

WANG XIAN a.k.a. CHRISTOPHER ONG was already passionate about photography, on top of the World Trade Center just before the 9/11 attacks, when he took his first photograph. While living in Melbourne two years later, he became a founding member of the Lomographic Society of Melbourne, won two community awards for a street photography and exhibited at independent art galleries. He has also directed two short films, several music videos, and a weekly television variety show, all of which aired on Melbourne’s Channel 31.

On returning to Singapore, Wang Xian worked as a portraitist before shooting the 2008 NUS Arts Festival campaign. This marked the beginning of his career. He became a freelance photographer in fashion, art and design serving such renowned clients as Hermès, Lacoste, Pull and Bear, Bershka, Hansel, WanderWonder, Random, AKA Wayward, Regnum Lapideum and Reckless Ericka.

>>> Visiting TOKYO (MAY 24 - JUNE 7)

Hi, I will be travelling to Tokyo from May 24 to June 7. I would like to meet fellow photographers, makeup artists, hair stylist, and wardrobe stylists and models to shoot fashion, art and design, in order to build a portfolio of new work. I am thinking of shooting more street and avant garde fashion mixed in with a traditional and natural attitude. Please work with me, if you can. Together we will break boundaries! MESSAGE ME NOW.
