About Me

"Just like chocolate covered bacon, I found that mixing my love of architecture and photography just wasn't cutting it."

My interest in photography started just a few years ago as my architectural firm required an employee with professional photography skills. Back then I was quite happy to shoot in Auto mode, blissfully unaware of the creative skills that rested at my finger tips.
But what I also didn't know is how much I would come to love photography. And now, just a few years later, my passion for photography is equal to or greater than my love for architecture. However, just like chocolate covered bacon, I found that mixing my love of architecture and photography just wasn't cutting it.
Since a very early age, I have loved all creatures great and small. So I began to wonder if my love for creatures could work it's way into photography. After taking numerous pictures of my own little dog (sorry Zoey!!), I quickly found myself spending a good Saturday / Sunday morning down at San Diego zoo. My love for wildlife photography quickly grew.
I am also a kind of a geek. One year, after being utterly frustrated not being able to purchase tickets to ComicCon for the 3rd time in a row, I decided to head down anyway to see if there was anything to photography outside the great halls. I was not dissapointed, and took hundreds of photos of people in cosplay outfits. Since then, I have been lucky enough to score tickets, and have even branched out to other events such as Comikazee.

And so now, after a five year journey, I have discovered that I am a Cosplay / Wildlife photographer. With a little landscape thrown in every now and then...

My goals here at Model Mayhem are to further improve my portrait / cosplay photography. To learn the ideas of how to properly / creatively light a face, how to pose models, and to generally build up and improve my portfolio of work.

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. And I look forward to working with you!
