About Me

Aesthetic Response (AR) started out as a t-shirt company and has evolved into an arts and culture magazine.

We're looking for wardrobe designers and stylists who are up for a challenge: how creative of a garment or outfit can you buy/thrift/alter/deconstruct with a budget of just $20 and a trip to a thrift store? We would like you to come up with one male garment and one female garment, with each garment's budget limit of $20. An AR photographer will go shopping with you to document the searching, sewing, and modeling of the pieces. We'll even pick you up if you're not too far from Aesthetic Response HQ.

Since we are working on a tight budget as well, all work will be TFCD-based, with proper credits given to all contributors (designers, models, stylists) in the magazine and on the website. Once we have a large enough body of work from this monthly project, all featured designers' pieces will be sold to help pay for more projects and magazine publication.

AR would like for designers to write a short explanation of your design process of the garment, which we would include alongside an interview-like section in the publication, offering designer and model contact info. The aim of this monthly project is to encourage the idea of being fashionable without having deep pockets or rich parents.

Please contact us with your availability, so we can schedule when we can work together. We'd like to feature one or two new designers every month. Repeat featured designers are a possibility, if the chemistry between the designer and their work is well-suited with Aesthetic Response.
