About Me

Jean-Antoine Norbert made a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II that is on permanent display at the British Consulate NYC. His work was sold in the Art auction “Take home a nude” at Sotheby’s. He has exhibited at Gallery Claire de Villaret, Paris and Michelle Landolt, New York. His work was viewed in numerous shows in New York and Florence Italy. He is the Recipient of The David Schafer Portrait Scholarship and has been a copyist at the Museo del Prado in Madrid. His work is in private collections in New York, Malaysia and Switzerland. His work has two directions. In the first he talks about life energy forces. He means the vibrant energy that is at the origin of the creation of Life. He talks about freeing the body from its chain of suffering so that it can express joy. He is strongly influenced by the viewpoint he developed as a physician MD and the practice of activities like Yoga. Because it create a well-being that have tremendous impact on our health and increase the old age quality of life. Jean-Antoine undertakes the theme of Catharsis, the second direction of his work, as an artistic platform where he begins a dialogue with his personal struggles. He earned an MFA from the New York Academy of Art, a diploma from the Angel Academy of Art in Florence Italy and a medical degree from UNIL, Université de Lausanne, Switzerland.

"It was a pleasure working with Jean-Antoine. We had a nice time talking about art, travels and mountains. It was my first time modeling for a painter and an art class. I enjoyed the process very much as I learnt new modeling skills and met a community of artists. I highly recommend working with Jean-Antoine. He’s friendly, made me feel comfortable all the time and guided me through the portrait drawing session." Read less
