About Me

BIO

I am Erica Hanna, known as Erica Olina in the film and fashion industry. I was born to a mother with a Spanish-Japanese background and a father with a Filipino background in the 2nd of August in the year 1989. My diverse ethnicity has always made me one of the unique beauties in the world. I always loved singing, dancing, acting, writing songs/novels/poems and do creative projects. At 7, I became a part of my primary school’s biggest stage production and among the plays, I was cast as one of the dancers in West Side Story. I have also joined an all-girl's group and we have done pop dance performances during school events. At 10, I have done Contemporary, Hawaiian and Ballet dance workshops at San Diego Studio in Cebu, Philippines. I was also among the Sopranos in the choir for 4 years. In secondary school, I also joined as a vocalist in one of the school bands and have continuously done live performances in the campus.

CAREER AND EDUCATION

At 16, my love for the fashion industry begun. I started off as a student in the first batch of FTV (Fashion TV) Model School in the Philippines on 2006 and among the 30 graduates, I was among the 15 who were given the opportunity to strut the runway for local and international brands. I was trained by Rebecca Picket (Australian model/producer of FTV Singapore), Tweety de Leon (Filipino actress/model/president of Professional Models Association of the Philippines) and Daisy Ba-ad (Filipino stage director/composer). I also joined inter-school pageants, since my teachers and fellow students were keen on having me represent our faculty. Later on, I became one of the national finalists for FTV (Fashion TV) Model Awards Philippines 2006. I was trained again by Rebecca Picket and another talented mentor, Laury Prudent (African-American actress/model). As a finalist, I was able to meet the famous Michel Adam, founder and sole owner of FTV (Fashion TV) Paris.

In 2007, I was discovered by one of the best Filipino model agents and designers in the Philippines, Dexter Alazas. I agreed to sign the contract with my parents with A.D. Models Philippines (Homme et Femme) because I was underaged at that moment. Since then, I continued to do runway modelling for the couture collections of Filipino designers and I also modelled for local brands and also international brands such as Top Shop, Nike, Ipanema, Chocolate and Crocs. I also joined both local and national pageants. I was a regional finalist in Miss Teen Philippines 2008 and was awarded as The Face of Placenta for having flawless beauty and skin. I was also one of the top 12 finalists of Miss Cebu, Philippines 2011 and was awarded as Miss Maybeline New York for my beauty and charm and Miss LECIT-E for having a healthy mind and body. After the pageant, I was chosen among many girls who went to the casting for the search for Closet Collection's image model, a local Asian clothing line. Her print ads were all over the 3 store branches located in 2 major cities in the Philippines, Cebu and Davao from 2011-2015. Indeed, it was a big achievement for me and it made me a truly exceptional model.

I also participated in Cosplay (Costume Play) events from 2011-2013 since she has always been interested in costume design and portraying characters. Filipino costume designer, Danny Booc made most of her costumes and I handcrafted my own props. On January 2013, I was one of the Filipino models who was chosen to be in episodes 5 and 6 of a hit Korean TV series in SBS Korea channel called, "Wonderful Mama". I worked with famous actors and actresses from Korea such as Park Bo Gum, Kim Ji Suk, Jeong Yoo Mi and Jeong Gyu Woon. On the same year, I won the "Best Female Cosplayer" award at the Otaku Fest cosplay event. Early 2014, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design at the University of San Carlos, one of the most prestigious schools in the Philippines. At the end of the year, I became a guest singer/duet partner of one of Philippines’ internationally renowned legendary singer of all time, Mr. Jose Mari Chan. Though modelling and attending university was somehow tough for me, yet my life has been very productive and enjoyable. I have done runway, editorial, photographic modelling, acting and singing projects. Being versatile is one of my greatest strengths and I am indeed, very proud of it. Perseverance is the key!

Time came when I wanted to have a much greener pasture in life so I decided to move to Melbourne, Australia on February 2015. As usual, I juggled both my studies and my career as an actress and model. On my first 3 months, I have started working in the different categories of modelling. I've done photoshoots, promotional events and videos and runway shows. I also landed on lead roles in Australian feature films such as Mui Karaoke: The Trial and Execution of a Goddess and her Son that had its' premier at the Alex Theatre in St Kilda. I have also done a few short films and co-starred as a "Young Intern" in episode 6 in a new Australian TV series, The Wrong Girl with lead actress, Jessica Marais.
