I am a working photographer in the Williamsburg VA area. I lived in Los Angeles for 12 years and NYC for 2 years, where I shot for numerous publications such as: Vanity Fair, Los Angeles Times, Sony Style, Detour, Life & Style magazine as well as numerous other publications. I am versed in all forms of lighting, indoor studio strobes and outdoor natural light. I love to teach how the basis of great photography is understanding the quality of light and using great composition. I come from a long line of photographers and grew up around 4 professional photographers. I attended Brooks Institute of Photography and apprenticed with many highly successful fashion and portrait photographers. I also worked for the film director Sophia Coppola as her first assistant for 2 years, before continuing on as a photographer myself.
