Years ago in the 35mm film days back in my native Canada I worked in commercial industrial photography with a bit of wedding photography, and a strong interest in nature photography. That interest in the beauty of nature inspired me to delve more into capturing the beauty of people through portraiture, whether through fashion, glamour, wedding, lifestyle, or family photography. For me, finding that beauty is an exciting process of discovery where I hope the subject or model will discover something about themselves in how they reveal themselves to the photographer, and in how their unique beauty and style is conveyed on "digital film". My approach focuses on combinations of ambient and artificial light sources to bring out as natural a look as possible. I specialize in location shooting as I find the possibilities are much broader and more natural than being limited exclusively to a studio setting, and it is also more fun to find ways to model the light or take advantage of new lighting opportunities. My portfolio includes a general section and model-specific galleries from recent shoots to highlight and showcase their beauty and talent.
