I find my most distinguishing attribute as a photographer is that I strive to capture a complete image of a complex human being, not just a superficial portrait. I want to evoke emotion by capturing real people in their own space and environment, where they feel most comfortable. I aim to capture what makes people who they are, their inner essence, not just a pretty picture. One of my favorite photographers, Rodney Smith, once said in an interview, “I think if a picture in fact answers every question, it’s not worth looking at more than once.” I completely agree, and aim for this every time a snap a photograph.
