Starting Tough Cookie which was mainly accessories, scarves and knitted caps, that was all handmade. I begin to learn new crafting techniques, I decided to expand on my gift that was introduced to me as a young child but at the time I had no interest in and that was to learn to sew, the lesson that I was unable to receive from my mother before she passed away. My mother passed away right before my 25th birthday. It's days I miss her, and me sewing brings me closer to her. It brings back a nostalgic feeling.

Tough Cookie name mean so much. Tough Cookie is exactly what a Tough Cookie is, a person that is tough, that won't crumble no matter what is thrown at them or what happens. Tough Cookie represents those that were meant to stand out, and be different. "It's ok to be a Tough Cookie!"

At the moment the garments I create are women ready to wear pieces, but I have made pieces for kids and have been thinking about making men items. I like to be different and I know that there are plenty of people that want to stand out as well. And with my experience in retail I not only want my 'Cookies' to be proud in what they wear but to feel good. Clothes is a natural confidence booster, when you look good, you feel good.

My goals is to become a known designer, to network with others, and create opportunities for myself and others.
