Using art as a tool, I explore connectivity of people. Focusing on the personal and collective identities to create spaces that are mutable and inclusive. Often very process driven and with multiple outcomes, the projects engage new audiences who bring a dynamic and fresh view of art and culture. Through co-authorship and working across disciplines, whilst celebrating the differences, similarities are teased out that ultimately reveal the common good.

Recently I have started life drawing too. We could always combine the session with photography and drawing together.

My interests as a photographer are manyfold. However my main passion is creating portraits of others which I call 'self-portraits'... working intimately and closely with the subject to bring their personal self in the creation of the final image. Even if at times I take portraits for my own arts projects, they reveal the person by way of a collaborative process. Whether I do portraiture, for my self or a client, creation of the portrait starts way before the camera is even touched. These conversations are crucial for both parties to set a brief, create limits, and finally the performance for camera. I seldom photograph people without consent as my preference is to create a mutual space to explore the possibilities.

I enjoy the uniqueness of each person. Some portrait sessions last for hours, at times meetings take longer, then there are spontaneous moments of little conversation and more play time with the camera. Working with people, the bonus is hugs and laughter, always!
