About Me

Though she lives in Brooklyn, much of Katie's childhood was spent outdoors and with animals. These experiences are the current of joy that run through her still. Her jewelry is in response to and inspired by the simplicity and perfection of nature.

Katie is mostly self-taught and does all of the construction, dying and painting out of her Brooklyn apartment. Each piece of Palomino jewelry has a story, some sort of connection to the natural world; therefore, the materials are carefully sourced to protect the environment as much as possible, to show respect for the perfection and synergy of organic forms and textures.
