Experienced photographer, I started my career shortly after graduating from York University. I achieved a Bachelor of Fine Art with honours specializing in photography, painting and drawing. Shortly after graduating, shooting with film and darkroom manipulation became my number one passion before ultimately making the move to digital and studio photography. In those "film days," i shot events and landscapes. When I accepted a position as a studio manager for a large photography chain from Montreal four years ago, i made it my mission to excel in studio photography. I love working with light and contrast and soon gained the reputation as the go to photographer for fashion and maternity photos.

Presently, I am workin on developing my own business Josie Da Silva Photography & Fine Art. While still shooting events, my focus is on studio photography and commissioned oil paintings. My clients describe me as being someone with a keen eye for shadows, the dynamic and everything "artsy." I would like to join Model Mayhem to connect with other photographers, to collaborate, to learn and to meet those who would like to stand in front of my camera and make Magic!
