My name is Mary, and I am a professional makeup artist. I have been in the industry since I was 16, primarily working with models on fashion photo shoots (where I have done hair and makeup) and makeup for beauty queens and brides. I recently moved to Nashville and want to network with local photographers and models! I would love to do work in the area through Model Mayhem. I work with HD makeup and have completed several training and certification courses for makeup artistry.

I am interested in professional makeup artistry for two purposes: witnessing the transformation of my clients as well as the personal engagement in self-expression. First of all, I love when I sit down with a client and completely transform their physical appearance through makeup. There is the aesthetic purpose of enhancing the individual's beauty as well as the opportunity for me to reflect their personality and inner beauty outward in their look. Even if I am working on the face of a naturally drop-dead gorgeous model, makeup still takes the look to the next level. I feel that the transformation of makeup is comparative to the metamorphosis process that a butterfly endures through physical change and personal growth - the inspiration for my name.

I also find that makeup is such a wonderful means of self-expression - you take various beauty products and create a work of art on a person's face. This could be anything from a smoldering smoky eye with a shimmery gloss that enhances a woman's confidence for a special occasion or avant garde makeup intended to enhance high-fashion styling on a professional model at a photo shoot.

My work is built upon my attention to detail and my commitment to success. I personalize the image process according to each client by instilling their personality into my work but also representing myself as an artist at the same time. I am also very ambitious and strive to go above and beyond expectations of my clients. I have such a passion for what I do, but I take my work seriously because I view myself as a professional devoted to artistry. I am constantly taking classes from artists that I admire, seeking inspiration from the world around me, and pursuing innovation with my work.

My ultimate goal is to work as a makeup artist and image consultant. I am very interested in the fashion, pageant, beauty, and bridal industries and would love to advance my professional standing there.
