I have been a serious fine art black and white amateur photographer for the last 35 years. I have had public exhibitions and have sold my work, although I'm not in it for the money. 35 Years with black and white film and 15 years with digital media. My photographic aesthetic with black and white film is to shoot medium format on a Hasselblad, and I do architectural and landscape work with a view camera. I believe in straight photography and am well versed in digital editing and enhancement techniques but I am not a fan of overly manipulated or gimmicky Photoshop creations. I would prefer to be in the darkroom, spending an hour pulling a selenium toned print on a warm tone Agfa matte paper. As you can see from my photographs I spend a lot of time in Italy.

The basic working relationship I propose is free prints and digital copies of our work in exchange for your time. I have an excellent printer and will provide you with free prints and digital copies on dvd's. My basic aesthetic is in line with the studio 64 group, started by Edward Steichen, who celebrated the narrowest f stop as enabling maximum resolution and depth of field. I am a big fan of Edward Weston's nature photography and nudes. I have helped models, singers and actors put together their portfolios, worked with authors on their publicity photographs and done wedding photography. My talents are mostly geared towards informal portraiture. I haven't worked with nudes before but would like to. Notice I didn't check "erotic" because I would like to work in the style of Weston's work with Charis Wilson, artistic and sensual without overt eroticism.
