Guillaume is passionate about the human body and its language. Considering it as the human being’s first expression tool, he likes photographing it in its truth, its sensualism if not bestiality, in its strength, in its beauty freed from the cult of perfection –through the use of special effects makeup in particular – but also in its vulnerability and ambivalence.

He relies on his past dancing career to compose, direct, arrange the elements, hold a movement, stretch out a body, suspend time, and fix a glance.

Guillaume is meticulous, precise, oversees every detail leaving little room for the unexpected but knows how to get carried away by the spur of the moment if necessary. Self-taught in photography, he applies his skills in cinematic techniques – he especially works with continuous lighting in studio – and as a director would do with his actors, gives his models free movement to propose their own interpretation of the desired emotion. Capturing the impermanence of this emotion, restoring it on a still or animated image to stir our imagination is what is most important for him.

The approach is similar when he captures the emotion of a landscape, the pulse of an urban city, the graphic lines of an architecture or the textures of a material. Through the choice of view angle, frame or staging, reality changes, fragments, twists and fades away to let our own imagination express itself.
