Welcome to my page. I'm not going to talk to you in third person and give you the impression that someone else wrote this for me, I want this to be personal. My name is Nastashia Young, I was born and raised in Detroit, MI, and I consider myself a positive product of my environment. I grew up in a city that many speculate on due to its notoriousness of being everything that makes the big-city "the City." I've grown up in neighborhoods that rang with gun shots, drove down streets full of ambitious street pharmacists, i've even watched friends and family members that I grew up with head down that same path. You want to know something though? I wouldn't change it for anything. They say strength comes from struggle, and i've witnessed the struggle nevertheless, but I made it. No, i'm not rich in terms of currency, but I am rich in experience. I've learned some lessons the hard way, and, at the same time my neighbors have unintentionally taught me the raw truth about life. My city and the people in it were my biggest teachers. Detroit taught me how to hustle; how to really go out and get what you dream of.

So what do I dream of you ask? I hope this doesn't sound cliche because this has been my dream since High School, but, I want to make the city a better place. My life goal happens in this order: become a Supermodel, start community centers throughout the United States for inner-city youth, and become a lawyer. I hope to gain some type of fame in the modeling industry, not because I love attention, but because I need it. Why do I need attention? So I can attract people to me who are willing to help me with the bigger picture; uplifting the youth in the city. I believe everyone deserves a chance, but the sad fact is that everyone will not get one. I hope to be that first, second, and third chance. The ultimate goal is to help the youth recognize what they aspire to be in life and help them come up with a plan to chase their dreams. Making your dreams come true doesn't take a miracle- it just takes a couple steps in the right direction and a lot of goal-setting. I want to be the one who brings positivity back into the city, who takes the hopelessness away, and shows people there are alternative paths than the ones they face now. With a lot of work and dedication I know I can make this dream a reality.
