Experience and Qualifications

I am highly motivated, caring, very creative and pay great attention to detail. These are qualities that I believe are vital for achieving professional and outstanding results.

Realising at a young age that my passion lies within the creative arts, I decided to study production arts in college and later on History of Art. I received a BA (Hons) in Makeup Artistry from University of Salford for a three-year course. This course covered all areas of makeup and some hairstyles including: Editorial/Media/Fashion/SFX/Remedial Camouflage/Avant Garde at a HD camera standard. The course also covered major aspects of photography so I have a solid understanding of lighting and angles.

After university I joined the MAC Cosmetics team as a retail makeup artist. I received full training, which means I am MAC certified. I remained at that position for about 6 months; shortly after realising I did not enjoy the retail side of the job. I enjoy challenges and being as creative as I wish to be. I left the retail job and decided to go freelance with a full MAC makeup kit.

During my time at University, I was lucky enough to be asked to join a team of young makeup artists to go to Tokyo, Japan. Once in Tokyo I received training from makeup artist Kei Yamaguchi who is part of the Habia group. This trip was extremely beneficial as I learned new application techniques and now feel fully confident in applying makeup to Oriental/Asian faces. This training was crucial as Oriental/Asian faces have different skin tones, structure, and features.
I am qualified in Fashion Photographic/TV Makeup and have loads of experience in Fashion/TV/Film/Theatre. I have a full working professional kit and am fully insured. I am looking to build my CV and portfolio immediately.
