My name is Matt Loughrey and ‘Way Out West’ was established in 2010, primarily as a photographic documentary. The aim of which is to capture and relay, the sense of self and scenery that is abundant in the West of Ireland. Much of this is through portfolio alone, yet from July 2011, my work began to gain recognition throughout Ireland and the Irish American community. A work plan was developed to suit the increase in requests for project assignments.

My photography as Way Out West has gone on to feature in most Irish press, as well as numerous magazines and tabloids abroad, most notably a series of interviews and features with both Irish America magazine and A.O.L.

In 2011 my work and style was profiled on Nationwide for RTÉ televison here in Ireland.

From simple portraiture to a large scale project, many references are available that reflect my ability to meet and exceed project requirements. Studio space is always available and client location choices are quite welcome.
