My interest is in “contemporary-realist" figurative painting. My long-term project, using both “traditional” “realist” techniques, and many other “non-representational” techniques, is to merge my interpretations of common symbols, tropes, paradigms, and transcultural ideas into meaningful “new” forms. This “new” view of reality emerges from what we commonly call both analog and digital visuality.
My earliest training was as a painter, draughtsman, and performance artist at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and the University of Maryland Baltimore, County (USA). I hold a Bachelors of Visual Arts degree from the University of Maryland (BA, cum laude, 1992), and a Master of Fine Art degree from Lesley University College of Art and Design, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA (MFA, 2018).
