About Me

Little self-portraits hidden under landscapes and portraits of other people. To make a long story short, that could describe what I do in photography. Basically it's about searching, finding (even transforming) a landscape, a person, a little detail, in something that could tell anything about how I feel. Actually, I guess that is what everyone's doing. But that's when the particular eye, talent, whatever you want to call it, of oneself comes in.

Well, I do some work on comission too, and theatre photography.

I started with all the photography stuff at the end of 2007. And everything started with the death of a camera -that is a paradox. Autumn in Lisbon. My little camera decided she'd had enough, so she slipped from my pocket and sinked into the Tajo (with all the pictures she had inside, by the way...). As a temporary solution, a friend of mine, professional photographer, lent me one of the cameras of his studio, a Reflex Digital Canon with which his assistants worked. "Maybe even you get the point and become a photographer", he joked.

And that's how it was. Back in Barcelona, the first thing I did was buying the same camera. I was under the urge of taking pictures, express myself with images. So that was it.

Studies? A degree in which I studied Arts, history of aesthetics and in which I basically learned that, if you want to become a good photographer (a god artist in general) it's essencial not only to control techniques, but also to know anyone who's done something interesting in painting and photography. To forge a taste for oneself. To learn from the best. And to draw your own way with a bag full of experience.
Well, I also did several workshops: studio portrait, postprocessing, basic knowledge of a camera... workshop here, workshop there, while I'm saving to make a photograhpy course, which is what I think I need to do.
