Unless you consider scornful looks and words from my Grandma when I removed perm rods at her salon as a child “being in the hair industry,” I haven’t been in the game long. I started at Federico, a Sacramento, California beauty institute, in March of 2012. I enrolled in beauty school to continue my family’s hairdressing legacy and had hopes of one day enjoying a stable income. Once I was completely submersed in the hair culture, I realized doing hair gives me a euphoric state of mind. I have a job that makes me happy; not many people can say that. Currently I work at Spoke and Weal salon located in North Beach in the heart of San Francisco. I have done extensive training with Jon Reyman, Christine Thompson and Christy Dylo in the art of cutting and styling.
