About Me

I am an acting professor/actress/director/playwright and advocate for people with chronic illnesses. I have a very rare blood disease called aHUS (atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome) that caused my kidneys and transplanted kidney to fail. I have had over ten surgeries, so I have many scars all over my torso, and I also have an infusaport in my left clavicle. I take boudoir photos with local photographers and put them on my blog to document the changes in my body as I get sick and healthy. I have gone through many changes in my body in the past five years, and my weight fluctuates, but I am a fun and confident model looking for photographers who want to help me with my mission, which is to inspire other sick people to appreciate the beauty in illness while they struggle to survive.

I like to use some of the shots from shoots for my blog, www.kidneysandpinups.blogspot.com, so I need to have copyrights to at least a couple of pictures from each shoot. I would be willing to sign releases as long as I also can use the photos for my own advocacy. My most recent photos are being used by the University of Iowa Hospital Transplant Clinic to market their aHUS specialists. There are many opportunities to have the photos get attention, as my blog reaches a wide variety of audiences, including the medical community.

**I am currently interesting in doing a photo shoot at my infusion clinic in a medical setting. I love pretty pictures of sick people, and I think it would be a really fun project. I have to get infused every two weeks in OKC, and can get access to a private infusion room if I know beforehand.

I don't have a "conventional" model body at the moment, due to my immuno suppressant drug regimen. I am not tall or thin. But I know how to move my body to make it appear aesthetically pleasing no matter how big I am. Thanks for checking me out, and let me know if you want to do a project to help boost self esteem for other sickies like me!
