At the age of 16, Desiree began focusing on practicing a healthy lifestyle. Although she was already actively involved in dance competitions, cheerleading, gymnastics, softball and other extracurricular activities, she began focusing on health and fitness. She was particularly amazed that we can change our bodies and health through exercise, a healthy diet, and dedication!
Growing up it was always her plan to become a lawyer. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology from the University of Tampa, she landed a job working with the Federal Government. During her 8 years of working in the legal field, health and fitness remained in her life and became her main focus.
Eager to become an expert in the exercise and nutrition field, in January 2012 Desiree applied and was accepted to the Montclair State University Master of Arts in Exercise Science and Certificate in Nutrition program. She is currently working towards her Masters Degree at Montclair State University.
Starting in 2008, she began training with a professional bodybuilder and was excited by the figure competing world. In 2011, Desiree experienced her first bikini competition with the National Physique Committee. After hard work, determination, and discipline she earned her Figure Pro Card with the Drug Free Athletes Coalition in September 2013, and consequently competed at the DFAC Worlds Finals in Miami, Florida in November 2013. That same year, she was featured as a Pro Figure competitor in the German magazine Natural Bodybuilding & Fitness.
In April 2013, Desiree sustained a shoulder injury during weight lifting and suffered a torn labrum. Consequently, she underwent surgery in May 2013. Instead of looking at her injury as a bad thing, Desiree views her injury as a blessing in disguise. During this time, it allowed her to reflect on her life and careers goals. It became apparent to her that her dreams and goals in life shifted and it was time for her to follow those aspirations. Recently, after 8 years, she took a leap of faith and left a high paying legal job so that she can pursue her passion of health and fitness, and follow her dreams of changing other people’s lives through health awareness and nutrition coaching.

Desiree currently works as a Nutrition Coach in Somerville New Jersey as a Life Transformation Specialist to educate her clients on how the body works, how food plays a role in their weight loss, and teaching them about quality nutrition. She creates strategies to help them achieve permanent weight loss along with a happy and healthy lifestyle. Also as a coach, she helps her clients set goals, overcome challenges, create meal plans, and addresses specific individual needs such as allergies and existing illnesses. She enjoys encouraging her clients to believe they can do it and that they’re not alone! Her favorite saying is “You only live once, so accept the things you cannot change and find the courage to change the things you can!
