all my images are analog 35mm slides that are layered to create an illusion of two instances at once . it may be hard to wrap your head around until you see my process because the tools i use are no longer made .

currently i am photographing psychedelic & / artistic nudes to create new surreal imagery while also collecting slides of women from around the world

my intention is mindfulness & my process is creative reaction

Alex Ember is a San Francisco based photographer & co-founder of The SUB creative collective. Alex's most recent focus has been his series ANIMA [ the unconscious feminine aspect of a male ] where he collects vintage analog 35mm slides of women from around the world & layers them with his own slides taken around America & Europe. His images edge into surreal & hyper-real moments to speak in the universal language of dreaming.
