I am an experienced photographer.  My work has been exhibited at juried art fairs and galleries in California, New York, and Iowa.  While much of my work is related to Nature, I have always had a keen interest in photographing people. 

I am looking for models, makeup artists, and hair stylists to conceptualize and implement creative photographs.  Your ideas need not fit the sorts of images I have on Model Mayhem.  I want to expand my horizons.  While I am updating my portfolio, I am just as eager to take head shots or whatever else you need to fill out your portfolio. 

I have a well-equipped studio but am happy to work in more natural environments.  For the most part I expect to trade time for images.  I do have a few projects in mind for which I can offer payment.

A bit of history…

I started with a 4" x 5" Crown Graphic press camera in 1964.  I spent many years shooting with medium format and 35mm cameras.  I am an expert in the darkroom where I have processed both black and white and color photographs.  These skills made my change to taking and processing digital images relatively easy.

When I moved to Iowa in 1996 for a teaching job at the University of Northern Iowa, I put my studio and darkroom equipment into storage.  Now retired, my first model (and wife of over 50 years) has encouraged me to renew my passion for photography.
