About Me

I’m an independent photojournalist, editorial, and portrait photographer based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and I have taught Off-Camera Lighting and Advanced Photography for Stanly Community College’s Photography program. I also shoot in Charlotte and Albemarle, NC.

I'm interested in TFP and paid gigs, especially interested in shooting promo shots for bands and models as well as any interesting and artistic ideas.

Previously I’ve served as Contributing Editor with CLTblog.com – Charlotte’s largest independent city blog, and I’ve also served as a correspondent with Crossroads Charlotte, a non-profit community building initiative. In addition, I’ve managed social media and produced multimedia content for a number of local bands and small businesses. I primarily do freelance work for news media, editorials, and commercial work, but I'm wanting to get more experience shooting portraits and models.

Photography clients include PBS, CNBC, Wired, The Atlantic, Slate, Mental Floss, Motherboard, Yahoo News, Our State magazine, Charlotte Magazine, Charlotte Observer, Creative Loafing, Queens University, UNC-Charlotte, WCNC, and many others.

I was a Contributing Editor for CLTblog.com when it was selected by Charlotte Magazine for a BOB award for Best Local Blog in 2009.

“The twenty-two local writers and photographers who serve as CLT Blog staffers post near-daily blog and video entries, keeping Charlotte readers informed about uptown bar crawls, retail hot spots, and NoDa’s newest eateries. They also ride the new-media wave, posting rapid-fire tweets for those who need to be in the know right now.” - Charlotte Magazine

“The team of writers, videographers, and photographers behind the site post information and images of Charlotte faster than many of the city’s major news outlets. Like most blogs, this one is a mix of commentary and fact, which makes it both informative and fun to read.”

“The future of journalism is really community news. Covering your town in a way the majors can’t is what keeps local people reading, and CLTBlog has taken that idea and run with it. Their website isn’t just visually stunning but also has neighborhood-specific content that the majors often overlook. Nothing like a little guy to keep us on our toes, right?”
