Avatar photographed by http://www.jadephotography.com.au my name is Hendrik, the founder of Sovereign Central Studios a place for me to explore and share my photographic journey. A little about me: my first camera was an Olympus pocket camera purchased back in 1986. I quickly became aware of the limitations this camera had upgrading to a second hand Pentax SLR and several crude second hand lenses and a tripod. the quality of the equipment was poor but having very little in the way of disposable income it was the best I could do at the time and it allowed me to explore the what I could do with a SLR. In 1989 I started working in a photo lab developing films for the general public and professional photographers alike and received an offer to start a photographers traineeship with Kodak express the following year but turned this down for unknown reasons to me now and am still kicking myself to this day for doing this. In 1992 I purchased my first high quality SLR film camera a MINOLTA DYNAX 5000i 35mm Film Camera. This is when my interest really started to stir as this was the first cameras that came out with auto focusing capabilities opening up new possibilities where fast focusing was a clear advantage. However film photography was expensive this in turn limited how many shots I could do. Back in 2003 I upgraded again to a Canon EOS 300D; this was a first generation digital camera. finally photography had become affordable enabling me to really explore like never before. This was to be the beginning of a dream which was Artistique Fotos. Little did I know that this would have to wait a while longer to take off. Currently it is 2013/14 I finally have a full working studio and all the equipment a photographer could ever want. The creation of SC Studios has come about as a creative and informative outlet where I could continue my personal exploration of what photography means to me and is set to become my business outlet in the future.
