First, thanks for taking a look at my portfolio.

Second, some background. I began shooting seriously about 1992 looking for a creative pursuit that would be less obsessive than painting was proving to be. It is not good to look up from the canvas, see that it zero dark thirty and realize you have to start the hour commute soon.

Initially, I pursued shooting only what satisfied the demonic muses haunting me. Gradually with the urging of those that has seen my work, I began taking it in a more professional direction. While this had benefits like new equipment, interesting challenges and getting to go to more weddings, it was clear that to me that I would not be interested in it as a means my living.

I do enjoy shooting weddings, events and even portraits, but generally do so only when it is someone I know, or the project is too compelling to resist.

Since this is ModelMayhem and not WeddingMayhem, LandscapeMayhem, or NatureMayhem, I have only shots of models, from beginner to experienced and from casual to professional.

When I need a model for a project, I look first at those I have worked with before and then turn to ModelMayehm, and pay standard rate or what is negotiated.
When a model has a project in mind, we generally work out a TFP arrangement which to me means shooting what the model needs and what the photographer needs, which may not always be the same thing.

I enjoy working with all levels of models and putting that shot together that leaps out of a portfolio and stays with the viewer.
