Mainly interested in people and consciousness, Shahryar Vasseghi explores subjectivity and the human experience through the classic atelier approach. Bored and confused with the multitude of isms and movements, he seeks to return to a place of innocence and simplicity. The primordial genesis of all creative work, a safe haven from life’s traumas. A post-secondary initiation into the contemporary world of art has led to a deep obsession with the discarded and forgotten approaches to visual expression.

The human figure has been the central vehicle of this search. The exploration of and expression of consciousness being the main theme. The human body automatically and perfectly conveys meaning and significance non-verbally. So it becomes the perfect instrument through which to communicate visually. It’s challenging, engaging, mesmerizing and meaningful all at once.
